Six S's

This post is brought to you by the letter "S"!

Soccer
Mathboy is really enjoying soccer season and he's improved tremendously in a short season.  Daddy is especially excited since this is his sport.   Mathboy seems to have a good instinct defensively and he really likes playing goalie.

Siblings ....Mine :)   We were blessed with a visit from Uncle Dave and Aunt Chris.   Mathboy was especially happy that they came to his early morning soccer game.

There are 10 kids on the soccer team, so they rotate in and out of the game.  During one of the times Mathboy was resting, I snapped this picture of him being sweet with Baby New Year.

Sand & Surf
We spent a relaxing 3 days at the beach with Grandma & Grandpa.   Everyone enjoyed themselves.   Little Sponge discovered that he really did like the pool afterall.  Baby NewYear liked the sand so much it was funny.  He was crawling all over the beach.  People passing by were giggling at the sight of him!   Bookgirl and Mathboy both had a great time and even spent the night in Grandma and Grandpa's condo both nights.  Thank you G & G for blessing us so much.

Six
Mathboy just turned 6!
For some reason this one was a big deal to me.  Him turning 6 suddenly seemed so much more grown up to me than 5.   I think because we struggled so much from three to five, that it feels like he made such a big jump to "suddenly" be six.   Mathboy is a joyful and enthusiastic spirit.  He loves to laugh and has alot of energy.  I adore his giggles.  From ages three to five I didn't hear many of those giggles, and now that they're back it's truly special.  Mathboy is a thoughtful child in many ways and it seems like he's maturing before our eyes.

His birthday was so special - he got to celebrate it twice!  Once at the beach with Grandma and Grandpa and once at home with Grammy and some friends.   We went to an aquarium during the day and then had friend K & D over for cake and ice cream.

At home
Mathboy gave several big hugs to Grammy and to us as he opened presents.  He was very appreciative of his gifts.

Playing with his new castle, catapult, and knights with their friends K & D.

This is what he looked like after eating the black icing on his soccer ball!
Happy Birthday Mathboy!

I sized these pictures all small so this post wouldn't be too long, but remember if you want to see a picture bigger you can just click on it.

We are enjoying our school stay in South America and Brazil.    So far we learned about rainforests, Bookgirl entered a drawing in an art contest, we've been learning Geography, and made wire Brazilian people.  We'll share more next week.  Have a blessed week everyone!
