During Bible this week, we read alot about Missionary Kids. We added our first missionary family to our wall map (the Z family, in Sweden). If you know missionary families, please email me pictures of them so we can be praying for them. We also learned about Dwight Moody in the US. Mathboy will be memorizing a Proverb each week this year and Bookgirl will be memorizing from the book of Matthew. Here is a bookmark she made of "Matthew" in it's original language (Greek).
For their USA studies they learned/relearned about US geography. The craft this week was Navajo Sand Art. First we took sand, dyed it colors, and spread it on newspaper to dry.
It took us until Friday to have a day where we could go outside and do Nature Study without getting poured on. Even so, once we got out there it started raining, but since it was not thundering we stayed out there. After exploring, and doing bark rubbings on different trees, they each picked something they wanted to draw and sat on the front step to do it.
Sweet Bookgirl brought me this flower with the fresh raindrops on its petals
Those were the highlights of week 3. In week 4, we'll continue studying the USA and hopefully finish memorizing where the 50 states are. They are also working on a special song, so maybe I'll have a video of it to share next weekend.
Someone recently asked LittleSponge, "What do you do during school?" He answered, "I EAT!" and sometimes that's true. The short answer is "lots of things." The longer answer: eat, crafts, small preschool activities, plays with toys, and sometimes watches a movie. He sits with us for Bible, and listens to some other stuff. He loves when we do crafts, music, and outdoor activities that he can be part of.
Here are a couple shots of him during school this week.
Have a great week everyone!

Is Greek part of the MFW curriculum? Very cool! :)
Greek is studyied in MFW during the year that they do the history time period of Creation to the Greeks (makes sense, eh?) For this year though, it was just the Greek bookmark :)
